The WiNRADiO WR-G400 block downconverter is a standalone
device which translates a range of L-Band frequencies to mid-band VHF,
centered at 142.7 MHz.
This compact, weatherproof device can be mounted directly onto the dish feedpoint
(such as the WiNRADiO WR-AX-400D-PF Patch Feeder) using an N-type coax connector, thereby eliminating the use of high-frequency cable
and associated signal losses.
The downconverter employs a fixed 1552.3 MHz frequency synthesiser in a phase locked loop which ensures
a very low phase noise and stability over a wide temperature range.
The low-side frequency injection produces a non-inverted IF output spectrum.

Stop-band attenuation of more than 70 dB is achieved at 1810 MHz,
where unwanted leakage from GSM cellular networks could occur.
The IF output signal is provided with an output impedance of 50 Ohm
via a female SMA connector, with a fixed gain of 55 dB.
Power of nominally 12V is supplied to the device via the IF output
coax cable. If the receiver connected to the downconverter does not
support this, power can be supplied via a suitable power injector,
such as the WiNRADiO WR-BT-3500.
The converter is packaged in a surface treated aluminium enclosure
which provides ingress protection that conforms to IP65 rating.
