The WiNRADiO Digital Bridge™ Virtual Sound Card is a software option designed
to transfer digitized audio signal streams exclusively from the WiNRADiO G3-series receivers to other applications.
It does so by creating a Windows multimedia driver with a pair of Wave In/Out Windows devices.
The WiNRADiO receiver software can send an audio stream to the Out device, and any other application
can then access this stream from the In device. This allows third-party applications that normally rely on a standard
sound card for signal input, to obtain digital signal samples directly from the WiNRADiO G3-series receiver
demodulators.
Until now such applications required a secondary sound card or operating system assistance, depending on the
particular case. The WiNRADiO Digital Bridge™ Virtual Sound Card offers several major advantages:
By eliminating sampling rates differences between the WiNRADiO receiver and the PC sound card, signal discontinuities due
to buffer over/under runs are eliminated.
Signal degradation introduced due to double conversion (digital-to-analog and then again analog-to-digital) is eliminated. Sound card interconnecting cables are also gone.
CPU usage is decreased due to saved operating system resources which normally would have to be allocated when sharing
the same sound card between two or more applications, affecting the demodulation process on slower computers.
The WiNRADiO Digital Bridge™ Virtual Sound Card ensures that the highest quality digital signal,
exactly as provided by the receiver, is passed directly to the signal processing application.
